PHI Direct is a new, low cost pet health insurance brand.
PHI Direct is designed to meet today’s pet owners’ needs, by providing low cost accident and illness coverage for their highly-valued pets. Many pet owners realize the value of having pet health insurance, but could not afford the premiums – until now!
Backed by decades of experience and a solid financial footing.
PHI Direct is a truly unique pet health insurance product that is founded on more than 20 years of pet health and pet insurance experience.
Launched in Canada on July 11, 2021 and created by an advanced team of veterinary, actuarial, brand and insurance marketing specialists, PHI Direct is led by Randy Valpy, veteran pet insurance executive, working in concert with experts at Canada Pet Health Insurance Services, Inc.
Designed to be different
PHI Direct is designed to offer premiums that are, on average, 45.8% less for dogs and 37.7% less for cats, compared to other insured Canadian pets.*
We do this through our unique ‘Time-Limited’ coverage.
Unlike other pet insurance companies, we only cover up to the first 12 months of a new illness or injury, which is typically when there are higher costs due to the initial diagnosis and treatment of the illness or injury. With our ‘Time-Limited’ coverage, PHI Direct helps when it is often needed most.
If the diagnosed illness or injury ends up being a chronic condition or requires further treatment in the policy year following when the condition was identified, we believe pet owners will be in a better position to budget for the ongoing care.
